Great Western Audience Alliance launches new website

September 17, 2019, Venice, CA -- The Great Western Audience Alliance (GWAA), the organization formed in July by the merger of CWCMA and NICE, with members in media companies in 11 western states and Canada, is excited to announce its new website, at

GWAA is focused on creating opportunities to connect with like-minded industry professionals, learn from subscription economy experts, and equip members with an increased capacity to drive positive change in their organization.

GWAA President and McClatchy Director of Audience Budgeting Jim Wall stated, "Our goal is to drive engagement with members and one way to do that is to provide valuable content. From the award-winning Best of the Best presentations to the recordings of past webinars, to GWADS speaker decks, this website delivers."

Troy Niday, Immediate Past President of GWAA and Chief Operating Officer of Sonoma Media Investments, said, "We are excited to be partnering with Inka to launch this site. As we face a tougher environment to grow and retain audience, our goal for this association is to deliver a solid roadmap. The website is an integral part of that effort."

The initial meeting of this organization of newspaper circulators was held in September of 1919. It was called California Circulation Managers Association. In 1971, the organization was renamed Cal Western Circulation Managers' Association (CWCMA). In January of 1921, the organization named Pacific Northwest International Circulation Management Association (PNICMA.) was born. In the years that followed, the name of the organization changed to Northwest International Circulation Executives (NICE). On June 20, 2019, the boards of both CWCMA and NICE approved unanimously to merge their media companies' members in 11 western states and 4 Canadian provinces to form the Great Western Audience Alliance (GWAA).
